Each month we bring together the things sustaining us — what we're reading, who we're learning from, what's keeping us going. Whether you've been part of The Joyful Activists community for a while or you've just found us, we're glad you're here.

Things to read, watch or listen to

  • Fred Again livestream for beautiful sounds and amazing London drone shots, or this rooftop one if you need to dance.

  • Ludovico Einaudi's Tiny Desk if you need a good cry.

  • Everyday rituals for happiness here. What are some of yours?

  • Hear people talking about the polycrisis, and wonder what it actually means? This article might be of interest.

  • Have you found Seiju's playlists yet? I've currently got this 'quiet mornings, slowly waking up to the smell of fresh coffee' playlist on.

  • How Embodiment Transforms Systems Change, read here.

  • These short films from our friends at Team Bertho (multi-award-winning youth organisation), check them out here.

Communities and courses

Here are some of our lovely pals and guest practitioners offering beautiful things:

Align, don't hustle Coaching Circle for Moms

Imani Clough-Brown, Somatic Coach and Embodied Leadership Facilitator, is hosting a new Moms Coaching Circle. A gentle, supportive space to slow down, regulate, and be in community with other moms, without any pressure to have it all figured out.

It’s a closed group (6-8 moms), meeting on Zoom, and rooted in somatic wellbeing practices that support Moms to feel well and regulated alongside the real joys and challenges of motherhood.

If you’re curious...

Coaching and workshops with Nature's Blueprint

Nature's Blueprint are running a free virtual workshop called 'Consistency Against The Odds' on Thursday 12th March from 12:30-13:30pm (GMT).

This is for you if you wish someone would debunk the phrase 'consistency is key', because life (or your personality) seem incompatible with it. Taking inspiration from a 92 year old nonna with amazing core strength, it's a chance to re-craft your relationship with consistency so that you can stay in it for the long haul as you do your best to make a positive impact in the world.

Nature's Blueprint are also currently looking for 2-3 people to join another person for a small closed coaching group, building a community to support each other, help each other navigate how to cope in the current system while we work to create future systems, and how to maintain our boundaries.

Find out more about the workshop and coaching group by emailing christina.transformational@gmail.com

Journal prompts

Overwhelm has a way of making everything feel urgent and nothing feel manageable. These prompts aren't about having the answers — just a gentle invitation to slow down and find your way back to yourself.

1. What actually needs my attention right now?

Not everything on your mental list — just today. What is one thing that truly matters, and what can wait, be delegated, or quietly let go of?

2. Where in my body am I carrying this?

Notice any tension, heaviness, or tightness. Without trying to fix it, just describe what you feel — where is it, what shape or colour might it be? What might it need from you?

3. What has helped me through hard moments before?

Think of a time you felt overwhelmed and came through it. What carried you? A person, a practice, a small comfort? How might you bring a little of that into today?
